Bela Dimguard is the daughter of the renowned Dwarven General Bragg Dimguard, who led countless battles against the Drow and Duergar. Raised with the expectation to be the perfect daughter, Bela grew weary of her rigid upbringing. At the age of 40, she took up tavern brawling and frequently found herself in trouble.
After her 100th birthday, faced with the choice of imprisonment or military service, Bela chose the latter. During her military tenure, she discovered the Goddess Veysha and dedicated herself to becoming a Cleric. Bela served as a medic for 70 years, but the losses and atrocities of war weighed heavily on her conscience. The breaking point came when her lover died in her arms from a poisoned arrow, and she was too exhausted to save him.
Unable to bear the emotional toll any longer, Bela resigned from her military post and began an apprenticeship as a brewer, despite her father’s objections. Fifty years later, her father was arrested for embezzlement and fell from grace. Before his imprisonment, Bela learned she had a half-sister living in Whitestone.
Bela left Khuldar-Varun and traveled to White Stone, where she found her half-sister, Reza, working in a small, cluttered shop filled with gadgets. Determined to start anew, Bela invested her life savings into purchasing and renovating an old tavern, transforming it into the successful Alehouse. She brewed her own popular beer and created a space for sanctioned fighting bouts, which became a lucrative venture. Reza joined her, contributing as a cook and setting up a small shop at the back of the bar to sell her inventions, despite the occasional explosion.
Over the past 40 years, Bela’s bar has thrived, becoming a staple in the community. She enjoys a fulfilling life, blending her love for brewing with her care for her half-sister and the local fighters. Though her past haunts her, Bela has found a sense of peace and purpose in her new role, balancing her duties as a business owner and a caretaker for her unique family.
